Downloading and Unpacking Instance Sets

For each instance set xyz of the mode mm you find an archive file called xyz.mm.tgz that includes the complete set of instances. E.g., the 480 single mode problems with 30 jobs are in the file j30.sm.tgz.

If you search the archive with a browser, the problems are sorted by single mode, multi mode and other problems, and then by the number of jobs.

The archive file has to be copied on your computer into your personal directory. This can be done directly with your browser.

Search for the appropriate directory in the archive. Then use the download option of the browser to get the file. Using e.g. Firefox on a LINUX-machine, you may click the link to the file you want to copy with the right mouse-button and choose Save Link As... from the pop-up-menu.

Copied tgz-files may be unpacked with gtar or tar, if your tar has the option -z to gunzip the file before unpacking the tar-archive. You may use

• gtar -xvzf j30.sm.tgz

or

• tar -xvzf j30.sm.tgz

• gunzip j30.sm.tgz

• tar -xvf j30.sm.tar

In each case you will get a file for each instance.
